    What’s the big idea?

    Videos proposed:

    – Hero Promo/Explainer video (1 – 2 minutes)

    – Industry specific hero videos
    – Client testimonials / Case study videos
    – Shepperd recruitment promotional videos

    In light of Jan’s email stating that there is further need for internal video discussions to define an overall video brief, this proposal will focus primarily on the concepts for a hero video only.



    Hero video (0.45 – 1.45):

    The hero video will serve to give a clear, simple and holistic overview of Shepper. The video should explain the solution, its value and what it’s various use cases are.

    Inspirations – graphics of software and styling of these videos are nice clean visuals that clearly explain the app or SAAS solution.

    Video flow:

    Notes: Graphics styled in the videos above would be used throughout. I’d also suggest we keep the script and tone of the video personable with a sprinkling of humour. We want this to be usable across different scenarios and also present Shepper as a cool brand. I’ve given a rough outline below of the structure and scripting suggestion: 

    1. State the problem – “so you have a ‘thing’ you want to check” – “but it’s 100s of miles away or there’s 1000s of them to check” – Could have the graphic of the furry 3D ball here, give it eyes, legs and arms and have it scratching its head.
    2. Introduce the solution – “introducing Shepper – the one stop shop to give you instant digital reports of your physical assets” – 3D ball could jump up and then legs and arms pop in and phone forms on screen around the ball showing the app. 
    3. Explain – “Shepper allows you easily to tailor checks for any of your physical assets, one of our verified Shepherds will go and check on your ‘thing’ to ensure everything is as it should be” 
    4. Use cases – So, if you’re a media company checking a billboard, or your name’s Bill and you have a place in the Bahamas” etc. – here is where the ‘panning’ would come in with clean graphics of the app shown in the inspirations above
    5. Show results / demonstrate success – show an example of a report and results from a check. You could also include a script section saying “don’t take our word for it” and have some quick changing logos of your clients. Solidify trust and credibility in your brand and solution. 
    6. End – back to 3D Furry Ball / logo reveal / call to action TBD.

    Visual design.


    Up to 3 piece camera set up shall be used. Dependant on filming requirements we would use Canon Cinema camera’s (C200 / C100) or Sony (A7S range) for more cinematic styling. 


    Where appropriate we would integrate animation, graphics and ‘B-Roll’, supplementary footage to add to the story

    Audio design.

    Sound FX

    Sound FX shall be used where appropriate to draw the viewer deeper into the experience, Some FX could include: interactive sound design, risers, bass drops, appropriate ambient sound 

    Music Track

    Impactful music track which compliments the style of video will be chosen. Changing music tracks to compliment the mood if required – e.g. a more sombre sound track during a challenge being depicted and a more uplifting track during an achievement. 

    Social optimisation.

    Subtitles will be added to all versions to ensure maximum engagement for those viewers who are watching without sound.

    We will ensure the video deliverables are given in multiple dimensions and are fit for purpose when distributing on each social media platform, for example: 9:16 ratio for Instagram TV/Stories & 4:5 version for Instagram posts and Facebook posts, 16:9 for LinkedIn. (see diagram)
