Aston Centre for Growth overview:

Aston Centre for Growth offers leading growth programmes and other opportunities for SME owners looking to grow their business.  Aston University has held the Small Business Charter since 2014, reflecting its expertise in SME engagement. We have experience of working with hundreds of SMEs to support their business growth, with investment ready pitching competitions, through our student focused start-up support and incubation centre and  on high profile programmes such as Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses.

Idea Brainstorm

Idea Hero Video (2 – 3mins)

Who’s better to talk about the impact of the Aston Centre for Growth, then those who’s businesses have been through the project and gained all the benefits of the education, mentorship and networking available. 

A suggested way to approach this project is to film 3 x case study videos with business, and use these in collaboration with a graphic lead explainer. The 2-3 min explainer would feature the 1 minute graphic/animation video content, sandwiched between a cut of key interview moments from the case studies, paired with B-Roll. 

Explainer Video Cut (1 min)

We will cut the graphical/animation elements for the main 2-3 minute video into a shorter 1 minute piece. This will capture pertient points within the main hero video and act as a great way to maximise the content produced. This video will illustrate the core values and structure of the Aston Centre for Growth. As the video is shorter, it will encourage more people to initially view the video on social media which will then aid in directing them to the full piece. 1 minute clips are perfect for instagram posts as anyting over 1 minute will need to be added as an Instagram TV post.

Case Study Videos (1.30 – 2.00 mins)

We will liaise with your selection of businesses and proceed with interviewing each business on how the Aston Centre for Growth has impacted their business, why it is valuable, their thoughts on the coaching and mentorship given, and the value of the network. These will be produced as individual pieces and be a valuable asset that speaks directly to business owners about why the programme is impactful and they should consider applying. We should feature 2/3 businesses of people who has completed the Small Business Leadership Programme. 

Case Study Video Cuts (0.20 – 1.00 mins)

Short, sharp cuts of the case study videos, better suited for social media. These will bring out pertain points from the videos and give viewers a quick and compelling snapshot of the Aston Centre for Growth.

Visual design.

Cameras

For filming our go to is Sony’s Cinema camera range (FX6 / Fx9). All videos will be delivered in 4K and all interviews conducted will have a minimum of 2x camera angles.

B-roll

Where appropriate we shall integrate animation, graphics and ‘B-Roll’ as supplementary footage to add to the story

Audio design.

Sound FX

Sound FX shall be used where appropriate to draw the viewer deeper into the experience, Some FX could include: interactive sound design, risers, bass drops, and appropriate ambient sound. 

Music Track

Impactful music track/s which compliments the style of video will be chosen. Changing music tracks to compliment the mood if required – e.g. a more sombre sound track during a challenge being depicted and a more uplifting track during an achievement. 

Social optimisation.

As your video project be distributed across social media, we will optimise the video appropriately. Subtitles will be added to all versions to ensure maximum engagement for those viewers who are watching without sound.

We will ensure the video deliverables are given in multiple dimensions and are fit for purpose when distributing on each social media platform, for example: 9:16 ratio for Instagram TV/Stories & 4:5 version for Instagram posts and Facebook posts, 16:9 for LinkedIn. (see diagram)
